Karris Golden is a full-time professional writer, editor and award-winning journalist. In addition to a thriving freelance writing and speaking career, she serves as president and Chief Operating Officer of Wasendorf & Associates Inc.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism and electronic media from Wartburg College. After college, she joined the staff at the Waterloo/Cedar Falls Courier. While working the Courier, Karris attended graduate school and earned a Master of Arts degree in English literature and creative writing from the University of Northern Iowa. Her thesis, The Place My Words Are Looking For, won UNI's first place award for Outstanding Creative Master’s Thesis.
In 2001, Karris went to part-time status at The Courier and continues to write On Faith. She also is a regular contributor to a variety of magazines and other publications. In June 2011, she began publishing Us Girls, a weekly blog.
In her free time, Karris enjoys spending time with her daughter. Their shared hobbies include reading, writing, motorcycling, bicycling, canoeing, photography and traveling.
